Moving is a difficult process and even if you hire a moving company you still need to make sure all your items are properly packed into boxes. For that, you need to purchase some packing supplies to make sure you pack everything right.
Before you purchase packing supplies such as boxes, tape, bubble wrap, or packing paper and etc you have to understand ho much you need.
Of course, it’s difficult to understand how many boxes you need, that’s why below you will see an approximate amount of supplies.
For a one-bedroom apartment, you need 10 small boxes, 10 medium boxes, 6 large boxes, 2 dish packs, 2 packing papers 10lb each, and 2 packs of tape. With these supplies, you will be able to pack and protect your kitchen items, pack your bedroom things, and everything else you need.
So, where to buy packing supplies for moving?
There are a few ways to purchase them:
- The first and the easiest way to buy packing supplies is by asking your moving company if they provide such a packing service. If you hire a moving company that will be packing for you, they will charge only for the supplies they used, and this can save you some “pennies”.
- Another way you can buy in the store like Homedepot or Uhaul. They have a little higher rate, but you can always return unused supplies.
- Amazon is the cheapest way where you can order boxes or tape. The only problem is that you need some time for them to be delivered and you can
- T return unused supplies, but if you plan ahead and perfectly understand how much supplies you need, it might be the best option for you.
There are also other suppliers such as your local hardware store that can provide you with packing supplies, but my advice to use it only if you need them at the last moment and don’t have other options, because you will definitely overpay.
